![]() ![]() This Nebraska book list contains non-fiction books as well as picture books and chapter books set in Nebraska. ![]() With living books you get an actual feel about what makes that state great! ![]() Using living books is such a fun way to learn about the states because learning about Nebraska is more than memorizing agricultural products. Living books, coined by Charlotte Mason, are books that make the subject you are studying come alive and are written by people who love the subject. That is why I love using living books in our homeschool. However, just because a state isn’t much to look at, doesn’t mean it has less to offer. Which my kids don’t actually mind because it means more screen time. But to get to these states you have to go through Nebraska. My husband is a truck driver, and we are very fortunate that his company not only allows our kids to go with him, but they actually encourage it! It’s a match made in homeschool heaven.īoth of my kids have taken epic west coast road trips from Wisconsin to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and beyond. ![]()

Additionally, they define “protest behavior” as “any action that tries to reestablish contact with your partner and get their attention.” By this definition, calling your partner once because she’s late coming home-an action most would find reasonable-is protest behavior. Despite using the word “strategy,” they define an “activating strategy” exclusively as a thought or feeling- not an action or plan. ![]() ![]() Levine and Heller’s definitions of the terms “activating strategies” and “protest behavior” are somewhat confusing. It is enough to make Roberto lower his arm with the same measured slowness. One of the hostage takers turns his head away from watching the locals to stare at Roberto and shakes his sharpened, one–and–a–half–foot–long panga. “Why can’t they at least pull over into the shade?” He falls silent and lifts his hand very slowly toward the lower rim of his sunglasses.
